Our Story.
McKenzie and Michael first met on October 7, 2022 in Lubbock, Texas at a concert venue - Cook’s Garage. McKenzie was there with her younger sister, Macy, and a group of friends to see Koe Wetzel perform. It was at this concert that Michael and McKenzie first crossed paths.
While they had not officially met, Michael knew of McKenzie through a mutual college friend. So, when Michael saw McKenzie walk by him at the concert, all he had to say was… “Hey, I know you!”. Strangers or not, they were drawn to each other almost instantly. They talked for a while that night, exchanged phone numbers, and parted ways.
At this point in time, McKenzie was living in Lubbock and Michael was living in Dallas. While they both knew they didn’t live in the same cities, Michael was convinced from the start that he wanted to get to know McKenzie further and see where things could go for them. She may have had her doubts about dating at a distance, but his continued persistence was admirable and eventually led McKenzie to give Michael a true chance.
While he would tell anyone it was “love at first sight”, she would say it was more of a “slow burn”. Once committed to one another, they haven’t turned back… and the rest is history! McKenzie and Michael are extremely grateful that God brought them together in the way He did. They cannot wait to officially be Mr. and Mrs. Hensley in May 2025.
… oh, and to finally say good-bye to long distance!
As their wedding day approaches, they both want to thank you for being a part of their story and for helping them create memories that they will cherish forever. Your presence during their wedding weekend, whether in spirit or in person, adds immeasurable happiness to their special day.
